Historical Context
Distilled in 1996 at the renowned Long Pond Distillery in Jamaica and bottled in 2020, this exceptional release forms part of Plantation Rum’s celebrated Single Cask Collection.
As with all Plantation Single Cask editions, the rum underwent the brand’s signature double-ageing process. After tropical maturation in Jamaica, it was transported to France for further ageing at Maison Ferrand before receiving a finishing period in casks previously used for New York Distilling Co. Rye Whiskey.
Long Pond is widely regarded as one of Jamaica’s most historic and distinctive distilleries, renowned for producing intensely aromatic rums with remarkable depth and character. The extended maturation period and unique cask finish contribute additional layers of spice, oak and complexity while preserving the vibrant Jamaican identity of the spirit.
Produced in limited quantities and individually numbered, Plantation Single Cask releases are highly appreciated by collectors and enthusiasts seeking unique expressions that will never be reproduced.
