Excellent preservation with original presentation box.

This bottle belongs to the final independent period of Bodegas Larios, before the acquisition of the company by Pernod Ricard in 1997.

The bottle, labels, capsule and original box remain in remarkably well-preserved condition for their age. The fill level is excellent.

Produced in Málaga, this Príncipe de Larios represents one of the last generations released by the historic Larios family company. Traditionally matured for a shorter period than the famous 1866 Gran Reserva, it nevertheless displays the elegant and balanced character that made Larios brandies highly regarded throughout Spain for decades.

Today, bottles from this pre-Pernod Ricard period have become increasingly difficult to find, particularly when preserved complete with their original presentation box and in such outstanding condition.

Historical Context

Príncipe de Larios was one of the flagship brandies produced by the historic Bodegas Larios in Málaga, Spain.

Positioned below the famous 1866 Gran Reserva in the range, it benefited from a slightly shorter maturation period while preserving the elegant and balanced character that made Larios brandies highly regarded among Spanish consumers for decades.

Following the acquisition of Bodegas Larios by Pernod Ricard in 1997, production continued in Málaga for several years. Unlike 1866 Gran Reserva, which was later transferred to Osborne, Príncipe de Larios was ultimately discontinued and disappeared from the market.

Today, surviving bottles from the Málaga period have become increasingly difficult to find and represent an important chapter in the history of one of Spain’s most respected brandy producers.
