Condition & Details

Official bottling of The Chita Single Grain Japanese Whisky, produced by Suntory and presented with its original carton box.

The bottle remains sealed with its original Japanese tax strip. The fill level is excellent and the whisky displays a bright golden colour. The labels are clean and well preserved, while the capsule remains intact.

The original presentation box is included and is in good overall condition, showing only minor signs of storage and handling.

Based on the tax strip and packaging design, this example appears to date from the 2010s, making it an early bottling of The Chita, a whisky that helped introduce Japanese single grain whisky to a wider international audience.

Historical

The Chita Distillery was founded in 1972 on the Chita Peninsula, in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. Owned by Suntory, it was originally established to produce high-quality grain whisky for the company’s famous blends, including Hibiki and Kakubin.

Unlike Yamazaki and Hakushu, which specialize in malt whisky, Chita focuses exclusively on grain whisky, using a variety of continuous stills to create different flavour profiles ranging from light and delicate to rich and complex. This versatility has made Chita an essential component of Suntory’s blending philosophy.

Introduced to international markets during the 2010s, The Chita Single Grain Whisky showcases the elegance and refinement of Japanese grain whisky. Known for its smooth texture and subtle notes of honey, vanilla and gentle oak, it has become one of the flagship expressions of the House of Suntory.
