Historical Context
Released in 2021, El Alma is the second chapter of Zacapa’s Heavenly Cask Collection, a limited series created by Master Blender Lorena Vásquez to showcase the influence of different cask types within Zacapa’s unique ageing system.
El Alma highlights the contribution of carefully selected ex-Sherry casks, which impart additional depth, richness and complexity to the spirit. These casks contribute elegant notes of dried fruits, sweet spices and toasted oak, creating a distinctive expression while preserving the signature character of Zacapa.
